ABOUT US

Cock and Bull Theatre produces experimental theatre that embraces new technology, exploring contemporary resources within the creation and presentation of fantastical realism. The essence of Cock & Bull is theatrical work with a high level of design, at times campy, and often dark and a bit gruesome, and work that is slightly unproducible.

We bend the boundaries of gender, sexuality and societal norms with cross-gender casting and creating work or producing work that explores, exposes or deconstructs sexual identity. We wish to create fascinating alternate realities, transporting audiences from the common realm into new and exciting places.
YOU ARE PLEDGING TO PRODUCE TITANIC by CHRISTOPHER DURANG FOR COCK & BULL THEATRE IN CHICAGO

SINK OR SWIM!

Titanic by Christopher Durang is a bizzare comedy set on the SS TITANIC and shows the dysfunctionality and polymorphism of a turn of the century family.

“This is a really difficult play to do.” - Christopher Durang

Roseanne Barr

Roseanne Barr was a sitcom star, a creator and a product, the agitator and the abused, a domestic goddess and a feminist pioneer. That was twenty years ago. But as far as she’s concerned, not much has changed.

A 1995 video demonstrating Joe Connolly’s methods of graffiti abatement in Los Angeles. He has some interesting, but questionable, theories.

Joe Connolly did the (many) buffs/tags on Washington Blvd. rooftops in the 1990s:
“GRAFFITI NO LONGER ACCEPTED HERE. PLEASE FIND A DAY JOB. THANK YOU.”

PALS (Now Playing)

PALS — “They came for the fame and stayed for the spectacles.”
Opening Saturday, January 15, 7-10pm
Actual Size
741 New High St
Los Angeles CA 90012

Pals (full title: Pals for Life / Life for Pals) is a teleplay about the dialectics of friendships under the strain of artistic endeavor. Shot principally in January 2011 at the Actual Size gallery in Los Angeles’ Chinatown, the approx. 34-minute video — told from the point of view of a traditional studio audience television program — revels in the angst and emotion of 4 friends/lovers who must install their respective art works in the presence of frenemies large and small. Each Pal is named after a specific human being, though the story implies that these pals are simple archetypes from a vast universe of narcissistic micro-movements.

Pals features performances by Wilson Chang, Richard Lidinsky, PJ Risse, and Natascha Snellman, with cinematography by Tyler Jamison and original theme music composed by Wilson Chang. Three rotating versions of the show poster will be on exhibit in the gallery through the duration of the performance from January 3rd to February 5th, 2011. The gallery will open to the public on the 15th of January for the first screening of Pals and an artists reception. The film will also be on view during gallery hours and by appointment from January 15th — February 5th, 2011.

In addition to the screening of the final film, works by the artists featured in Pals will be on view at Collective Show LA from January 20th — 30th, 2011. Collective Show is an artist-organized, ten day exhibition of contemporary art collectives. This collaboratively curated “group show of group shows” features local artist-run spaces, independent curatorial initiatives, not-for-profit endeavors and web-based groups established in the last five years. Telefantasy Studios presents two spectacular new episodes from the science fiction adventure series, The Multinauts.

Direction and Special Effects by Jennifer Juniper Stratford
Written by Christine Adolph, Jennifer Juniper Stratford, and Riley Swift
Score by Elan Polushko and Seth Nemec

Generations after the wars of Cancelation, a dark tyranny grips the Multiverse under the rule of Corporate Warlord, Oysters Rockafeller. Xanthor, Gigs, and Centari, three unlikely heroes from three very different dimensions, are transported aboard Tetra, a sentient starship infused with the wisdom of an ancient civilization. Moved by Tetra’s plea to restore peace, the trio embarks on a noble quest to save the Multiverse by taking on Oysters Rockafeller in a post-apocalyptic showdown. The Multinauts is both frightening and funny. It’s adventures explore astonishing new worlds full of remarkable creatures and dazzling special effects.

Episode I: “Flashback” — Good times go terribly awry when the trio travels to a wild kegger full of space preppies that turn out to be more than just party animals. Look for a special double cameo by Ariel Pink who lends his talents as a sewer mutant as well as a performance of the song “Flashback”. Other memorable cameos include web diva, Leslie Hall as well as DJ Lance Rock of Yo Gabba Gabba.

Episode II: “Mirror Man” — Finds the Multinauts on the bleak desert planet, Cherotec. In an attempt to regain a lost power crystal, the team must face mysteries lurking in the sand and the bizarre mirrored domain of Indigirka. This episode contains a chilling performance by Geneva Jacuzzi as well as an appearance by Francois Sagat.
